Sleeper supports a wide range of customizable settings for the Roster Positions of your League's teams.

Each Rostered (non-bench) position, may only be populated by players of the same corresponding position. Flex positions allow for one or more position. Players with multiple positional designations may play under the respective roster positions.

Using the -/+ icons, Commissioners can add or reduce the number of Roster Spots of a particular Position.


Offensive/Standard Positions

New Leagues typically default to the settings you'll first see displayed, fielding 15 total roster spots: 1-QB, 2-RB, 2-WR, 1-TE, 2-FLEX, 1- K, 1-DEF, 5-BN.

Leagues wishing to add further customization may add/remove any of the following Offensive and Team Defense positions.

QB: Quarterback
RB: Runningback
WR: Wide Receiver
TE: Tight End
FLEX: RB, WR, or TE
WRRB FLEX: RB or WR
REC FLEX: WR or TE
SUPER FLEX: QB, RB, WR, or TE

K: Kicker
DEF: Team Defense (& Special Teams)

BN: Bench -- Any player of any position. Spot for non-rostered players whose efforts will not be calculated in the weekly score

Defensive Positions

Leagues wishing to field Individual Defensive Players (IDP), can include the following Defensive Roster Positions.

DL: Defensive Lineman (includes Defensive Ends and Defensive Tackles)
LB: Linebacker
DB: Defensive Backs (includes Cornerbacks and Safeties)
IDP FLEX: DL, LB, or DB


Injured Reserve (IR):

  • IR Roster Spots: If enabled, players with certain Injury Designations may be placed into these special IR Positions, freeing up additional space for your team. The number of Injured Reserve Spots can be adjusted under Commissioner General Settings.
  • IR Eligibility: Specific Injury Designations can be allowed or excluded from what qualifies as IR- eligible in your league. This can also be adjusted and customized under Commissioner General Settings.
